This qualification is designed to complement the level 2 course in basic health and safety at work.
It is aimed at those people who carry out manual handling activities at work and introduces students to the hazards of manual handling, the risks, and the controls and what to expect from a manual handling assessment.
Successful completion will prepare students to look carefully at their own work and to contribute to the development of safer methods and tasks in cooperation with their managers and supervisors.
While this module can be delivered as a stand-alone qualification and there are no specific pre-requisites it is strongly recommended that students already hold the CIEH Level 2 course in basic health and safety.
There is a short multi-choice test at the end of the course. Candidates are required to correctly answer 15 out of 20 questions in order to achieve a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2
The course is designed to be delivered within three hours.
