Emergency First Aid /Appointed Person Course
A one-day course that meets the recommendations of the Health & Safety Executives current Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The course is delivered in accordance with the Approved Code of Practice L74 for training candidates in first aid for low risk environments.
Selection of suitable candidates:
Any member of an organisation or company, who is likely to find themselves taking charge of a First Aid emergency or assisting a qualified First Aider.
Content:
This course covers the basics in providing emergency aid to a patient.
Candidates will receive training in a range of first aid skills including:
- The ability to act safely, promptly and effectively when an emergency occurs at work
- The ability to administer cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) promptly & effectively
- The ability to administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a patient who is unconscious
- The ability to administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a patient who is wounded or bleeding
- The ability to maintain simple factual records and provide written information to a doctor or hospital if required
Course Outcome:
Candidates who successfully complete the course will be issued with a wall certificate. This certificate is a successful completion certificate and is valid for 3 years.
