Case Study 1: Dismissal Appeal Hearing

Intellect Business Services were approached by an organisation that had dismissed one of their employees. The employee had appealed against the decision and the company were keen that the hearing was undertaken by someone external to the organisation with a HR and legal background, as well as someone who would be impartial. The organisation was keen to ensure all legal issues were covered at the appeal, in the event that the case was contested at Employment Tribunal.

Intellect Business Services ran the appeal hearing over a number of days and the case was upheld.

The organisation was extremely happy with the outcome and felt they the process was managed fairly, and they were confident that they would be able to defend the claim at an Employment Tribunal.

Case Study 2: Employment Paperwork, Inductions and Payroll

Intellect Business Services were asked to develop Contracts of Employment, Staff Handbooks, Job Descriptions and Person Specifications for 12 members of staff. In addition we were asked to induct the staff to ensure that the process had been undertaken thoroughly.

Every member of staff is now paid using our payroll service with the necessary year end reporting to the Inland Revenue being undertaken as part of the contract. This means the employer has more time to concentrate on his business, safe in the knowledge that all the staff are being paid correctly, that they are clear about their roles, they have been inducted effectively and know what to do should they have an issues during the employment relationship.

Case Study 3: Organisational Restructure Advice and Implementation

Intellect Business Services were contracted to undertake a large organisational restructure and provide advice on appropriate outcomes; one of which was potential redundancies. Intellect provided redundancy training to the senior management team and provided them with support, both as a team and individually throughout the whole process, advising on individual cases and investigating grievances.

The organisation achieved its goal with minimum impact and knew that if legally challenged the processes adopted were robust.
